2009 Rider Calendar Photos ready & sorted The 18,256 photos I took during the 2008 District 23 season are now sorted by rider number, bike size and track. If you sent an email about a calendar in the sping or during the season, I can now let you know if I have enough photos. The calendars come out great and I'm sure you will be happy with the result. Spiral binding, double-sided 8 1/2" x 11" heavy glossy paper for $90 with 14 sharp images from 2008 racing. The best Christmas gift for a lifetime of motocross racing memories! --Gregg

December 13th Sandbox Photos I wasn't planning on going on 12/13 but the weather was so nice I went over and worked on some different camera settings for indoor racing. Many didn't come out but I learned a lot and I'm hoping to get some good shots at Sandbox on January 10th. --Gregg

August 24th Mora Race I decided to save on gas money and not go to Mora 2 out of 3 weekends in a row. I'll be at Mora in 2 weeks for the Berm Benders year end giveaway day on 9/7.

Millville Vet Photos John and the crew at Spring Creek did a lot of work to get the track ready after a quick downpour just before practice. Pretty muddy for the first few races but it dried out nicely for some fast vet racing! You can view the photos from June 7th right here. There could be a few in the wrong color as it was sorta' hard to figure out the brand in some of them. There are 2 pages of red photos. --Gregg

Pro Kart Pitbike Images The photos are here but bad weather on December 23rd resulted in a pretty small turnout for the pit bikes at Pro Kart. Racing will resume Sunday nights on January 6th. Lots of fun & it takes a new level of riding your pit bike with classes for 50cc & 110 machines broken down to A and B rider levels. You'll have fun! --Gregg

8/26 Little Falls Race Photos With a short week coming up, I started my day Sunday morning at 5:00 am and just finishd the images from Little Falls on Monday at 4:00 am. I'm actually going to take Friday and Monday off to enjoy Labor Day Weekend! The changes at Little Falls were great for taking photos and I hope you enjoy looking at them. If you are going to Kellogg for Labor Day weekend, just stay out of my way in the pit bike races. I'm pretty mean out on the track when I'm getting lapped! -Gregg

January 28th Staples Indoor Racing It was a very cold day which drove some people away, but it's too bad since it really wasn't as cold as I thought it would be in the Motodome. The photos are ready and everyone that made it out into the elements seemed to be having a good time racing!

D23 Banquet Photos The photos from the 2006 District 23 Banquet are ready. The room at the Mayo Civic Center was a nice place and I even enjoyed the food! It was also great to see everyone for the end of the '06 season and I can't wait to get back outdoors for 2007 racing. See ya' at some indoor racing in the mean time. --Gregg

2007 13 Page Personal Race Calendars I've already started making 2007 calendars. If you would like a calendar made with the '07 schedule, I should be able to start working on it next week. Final Race from Kellogg on 10/8/06 The D23 outdoor season is over after taking around 24,000 photos and finishing at Kellogg. The Millville and District 23 Banquets are still coming up for outdoor stuff and then indoor racing at Staples, Arenacross and maybe some WSA Snocross to end 2006 racing photography. It's been a really fun season for me and I'll have more end of year news coming soon...

Last Call for 2007 Calendars If you would like a 2007 calendar made with 2006 photos, let me know as soon as possible so I'm sure to have 14 good shots. Calendars are made on double-sided heavy glossy paper, spiral bound and make for a perfect Christmas gift (even to yourself!).

July 30th Weekend I took off my first weekend in about 3 years from shooting race photos. I spent my weekend sorting 2006 shots from Arpil through June. I'm now down to sorting the July races and I'll be able to answer emails asking "do you have a shot of me?" Give me till the end of the week and I'll have the rest sorted. July 19th Isanti Co. Fair Photos Jim Lorr always runs a great fair race and this year at Cambridge was no exception. June 11th Photos from Mazeppa Even with all of the rain in Southern Minnesota, the track held up great for weekend racing at Mazeppa. The photos are ready although some of them may look a bit odd after I tried a new program to develop them into web files. Prints will come out great but the JPG files on the web page leave a bit to be desired. Oh well, live and learn I guess. I'll develop the photos for the Hurricane Hills web page the old way.

May 14th Mora Mud Photos Another day of mud photos, this time from Mora. The track was actually in pretty decent shape by the end of the day, but with so much mud from the morning there was only one set of motos. Everything takes longer in the mud including me just moving from one spot to another!

April 30th Mud Racing at Mazeppa! The Mazeppa mud racing photos are ready. I left them in the aspect ratio straight out of the camera since they aren't sorted by brand or size. If you would like a print, send me an email and I can let you know how your print would come out. With so much water on my lens, some of the shots may be too soft but others would be just right in print form.

MN Racing Pre-printed Motocross Graphics I've added information for riders interested in having custom pre printed motocross number plates made for the 2006 racing season. The numberplates I've made so far have come out pretty nice & preprinted is probably a lower cost than buying a background & adding numbers over the top. 5/17/05 - I was planning on heading to Elko this weekend for the Motokazie event, but I've changed my schedule for the open practice at Kellogg on Friday afternoon. A group of old-timers like myself are going to ride on Friday and if you are planning on being there, all I can say is CLEAR THE AREA! Jeremy Penman, Mike Moores, Jason Boche, Mark Bartelds, myself and others will be falling down at a record pace so bring your video camera! --Gregg

5/17/05 - The track and grounds at Mora were great for their first race of the season on 5/15. Lots of improvements and the Sunday racing was fast with a nice turn-out. Have a look at the big bike photos and stop back for the mini action.

8/19/04 - With only about a month and a half left in the 2004 racing season, I thought I would remind people to let me know if you would like a 2005 personal rider calendar made. I need to have 13 good shots of the rider to make all 12 months plus the cover. It might not be too late yet, but it's getting close. The calendars are glossy on both sides of each month and are spiral bound. They will make great Christmas presents so let me know as soon as possible if you might like one made. -Gregg

3/22/04 - What a great season of indoor racing at Staples! The staff is the best in the world and I've heard nothing but compliments about the track all winter long. If you didn't make it to a race this winter, you've really missed out on a ton of fun. Images of the last motocross are ready and the photos have been getting better as the sun moves higher in the sky with more light for the camera. I had a blast all winter long standing on the sideline and thanks for being such good subjects in my view finder. - Gregg

3/14/04 - WARNING: Artistic license taken. I decided to have a bit of fun with the Canon camera (no Photoshop involved) for one of the last indoor races of the 03-04 winter season at Staples. The web page photos are bigger than normal and are the best winter racing shots in the opinion of the photographer! Be sure to maximize the size of your browser and hope you aren't on a slow connection. 3/1/04 - The motocross photos from Sunday, Feburary 29th at Staples are ready for your viewing pleasure. I've gotten a bit better at shooting with the indoor light and this past weekend came out pretty good. I'll have the quad racing ready soon too.

1/31/04: The top Snocross riders from around the world came to the Minneapolis Metrodome on January 31st and I now have photos from the races online. Thanks to Grant and the staff for letting me out on the track to capture the action!

1/30/04: POSTERS NOW AVAILABLE! I've had quite a few requests over the past few months for poster size prints and I am now able to supply them! The first size I will be offering is very large at 27" x 41". The tests have come out great and the color is right on. I'm offering them for a mere $55 for a limited time. 1/28/04: I've added a sponsor page to mnracing.com. Since I don't put any banner ads here, I thought it would be good to let viewers know who helps support these web pages. 1/18/04: A big thanks to Pete Niska for inviting me up to the Minnesota Ice Racing Championships at Fortune Bay Resort in Tower, MN. Racers had a great time and the track was fast. Spectators found the coldest weekend of the winter! But either way, if you haven't raced on the ice with your machine in the past, be sure to head up next winter. I hope you enjoy the photos.

1/13/04: My photos from the Sunday WSA Pro finals at Canterbury Downs on 1/11/04 are now online. It was a blast and if you weren't there, all I can say is too bad! You missed out on some great racing. Thanks to Kent at the WSA for letting me shoot the races so you can see the fastest Snocross riders in the world right here in Minnesota.

1/10/04: The WSA Semi-Pro action from Canterbury Downs on January 10th is ready for viewing. The Junior races are also included in the days photos and it was another fun day of racing. Thousands of fans and hundreds of racers!

1/9/04: I've posted photos from the Amateur WSA Racing at Canterbury Downs on January 9th. Check back for more WSA action from Canterbury as the weekend progresses. 1/3/04: Thanks to WSA South for letting me shoot the races in Willmar! I had a great time being at the WSA Snocross races again and they sure put in alot of work to get the track ready. I hope to see all the people I met at Willmar and the motocross fans that come to mnracing.com at Canterbury Park for the amateur and pro races on January 10th and 11th. If you haven't been to a WSA race in the past, you are really missing out on alot of fun! I hope you enjoy the photos from Willmar.

12/26/03: I have quite a few e-mails that I haven't answered from riders looking for 2003 quad photos. After trying my best to sort the images by rider number, I've given up. Probably 35% of the photos have no visible number for me to sort by. I believe there is a District 23 / AMA standard on number placement but too many riders don't seem to follow it. So even though I can recognize some of the photos that have no number, my searches would not be accurate and the sorting would be a waste of time. My advice would be to make sure you have a well displayed number on both the front and back of your machine in 2004. Sorry. - Gregg

12/22/03: The crowds keep growing at Farley Motorsports Center for Saturday racing in Iowa. Lots of Minnesota riders were there for the race on 12/20 and the photos from the event are now ready. Matt Morris is running a nice venue and will even be hosting an AHRMA vintage race on January 31st. The next race on the schedule is January 3rd.

12/17/03: Lots of quad riders were at Staples on Sunday, December 14th and I now have photos posted of the action. Have fun looking at them!

12/15/03: WOW! There must have been over 300 riders at Staples for the first indoor race at the MotoDome on 12/14. Check out the photos and get to the track this winter. The next race is Sunday, December 21st.

12/9/03: I'll be shooting photos at the MN State Ice Racing Championships in Tower, MN on Lake Vermillion. The race dates are January 17th & 18th with practice on Friday, January 16th. These are the classes for the big weekend event:

12/7/03: It was a big turnout for the annual District 23 Banquet and everyone seemed to have a fun time. Congratulations to all of the 2003 season award winners. It was a pleasure taking photos of so many smiling faces! Have a look at the photos and see ya' in April 2004.

11/28/03: Over 160 riders showed up at the indoor track in Farley, IA on November 22nd. It was a fun time so be sure to check out the photos and also get down for an upcoming race!

11/21/03: I'll be heading down to Farley, IA for the indoor motocross on 11/22/03. Sorry for the late notice since I was going to shoot the WSA Snocross race in Coleraine, MN this weekend. But since nobody at the WSA seems to answer e-mail I'll see ya' at the Iowa motocross!

11/8/03: I went down to snap some shots at the indoor motocross in Farley, IA. It was a great time with a staff that takes care of the riders and the event was really smooth. 10/31/03: The November 23rd race at the Staples Motodome has been canceled. Check their schedule for winter racing. The first race is now scheduled for December 14th.

10/25/03: The race photos from the final 2003 motocross at Kellogg on October 19th are now up.

10/24/03: A few photos from Saturday practice at Kellogg on 10/18/03 are now ready. I'll have the race day action ready soon.

10/23/03: I've decided to add a few shots of riders having some fun during Saturday practice at Millville on 10/11/03. Check out some of the action mostly over the jumps at Spring Creek. The Kellogg photos should be online by this weekend.

9/29/03: I've posted some of the photos I took during the Saturday practice session at Millville on 9/27. Quite a few pee-wee shots since I haven't made it back to the smaller track at Millville too often this season.

9/23/03: After having the last race rained out, I finally made it to Elko for photos in 2003. Lots of riders turned out and there were some great races on September 21st for the Motokazi event.

6/11/03: The night long rain at Mazeppa caused the Hurricane Hills races to be canceled so I drove up to Little Falls and got some great photos. The races there made it through the first motos before the rain came. Here is the motocross action from June 8th at Little Falls Raceway.

5/23/03: I finally have photos posted from the May 18th race at Kellogg. It took me a while because I was busy making prints of the riders who requested photos last weekend. I'll have them with me this coming Memorial Day weekend on Saturday/Sunday at Staples and Monday at Millville. It should be a fun weekend and I'll see ya' there!

I'm proud to have taken the photo of Cory DeYoung for the cover shot on Cycle USA magazine this month. I have a few other photos in it as well and capturing the action in District 23 is the best! Keep riding hard an you might just see yourself in an upcoming issue.

5/1/03: I tried taking some photos of the quad races at Mazeppa last weekend. I'm still learning the classes and riders but they didn't come out too bad. Let me know what you think and if you would like your photo taken in a quad race. If I get good feedback I'll keep shooting the races!

Search rider names, numbers and classes: Since many rider numbers have changed for the 2003 season, I've added a handy search tool for finding what rider goes with which bike number. You can search by rider name, racing class or bike number. Give it a try!

4/14/03: The photos from Kellogg on April 13th have been posted. I told you they would keep getting better as I learn more about my new camera! I hope you enjoy looking at them.

4/10/03: Lots of people have been sending me messages to get a photo shot of them during the coming season. I'm happy to get the e-mails but one the other day had an incorrect return address so I can't answer the mail. Be sure to check your address carefully when you use the contact web page. If you sent me an e-mail the other day and your name is Mike, please resend it so I can respond. And if you want a photo taken this year let me know and I'll add you to my list.

4/7/03: I have added the first photos of the season from the April 6th race at Mazeppa. Have a look. It was the first try with my new camera and this years photos will only get better.

4/5/03: I'm testing some "chat" software today. Give it a try and you can talk with other riders in District 23 and beyond!

3/16/03: It looks like Midway Recreation Park in Kellogg now has insurance for open practice in 2003. This is great news for riders in the southern part of Minnesota since you will be able to get in some riding time during the week at Kellogg, Mazeppa and Elko. Check their web pages for further information.
